Trip to VA 2010

A couple of weeks ago we made a trip to VA to hang out with family and to meet little Tecumseh.  I unfortunately forgot my camera on a few outings, so below is all I have in pictures of a week in VA.  The first half of the week was intense, waiting for the birth of the baby...not wanting to go anywhere, so we wouldn't miss it.  After Tecumseh was born, we went to Norfolk to hang out with Kev, Sash and Sabine and then to Busch Gardens sans camera :(  Anyway, we had a lot of fun and actually made the decision to finally make the move to VA!  We hope to be there by the end of the year and I cannot wait!

Sammy had so much fun with Sabine, he just adores her.  When he saw her he couldn't stop hugging and kissing her.  It was so cute!  He just kept repeating, "it's Sabine" with a huge grin on his face.  It made me really think about having another kid....we'll see.  Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

One night we went to Tappahannock with the family to enjoy a wonderful dinner at the famous Lowery's Restaurant.  Sammy is enjoying his ice cream with cotton candy topping.  they offer a fishing pole to all the kids, and have a "pond" full of crappy toys to fish for...he needed a little assistance...his Daddy was happy to help.

We went to Erick and Samantha's for Father's Day, as she was due any minute and did not want to be far from the hospital.  They were gracious hosts and we had a great time.

Sammy loving on Sabine.......

Having fun with Uncle Erick!

It was a million degrees outside that day, so Sammy had fun with the sprinkler....

What a beauty.....

Samantha a day before the induction.....and 3 days before the birth of Tecumseh.

So, on the way to the Reservation, there is a place called Lester Manor.  My grandfather worked there when my Mom was a little girl.  This rich dude decided to recreate the train depot and country store...among other things.....just to do it.  This stuff is not open to the public, it's like his own personal playground.  To weird.  He has projects going everywhere in King William and King and Queen....again, just to do it....some people simply have too much money.  We promised Sammy we would take him to see the train especially since we passed it every time we left or returned to the Rez....so I took a few shots.  I conscientiously  avoided the Ti-Pi's that he erected for the enjoyment of his grandson.  Those Ti-Pi's are a constant source of contention among folks on the Rez.  I have to agree, they do not belong....I mean Pamunkey lived in long houses, not Ti-Pi's, we were not nomadic people.....anyway.  Here some of the pictures from that outing.

Jim and his baby boy.....

He found a bug...yay.
